Part of enjoying our gardens and outdoor adventures is taking photos. SCMGA is lucky to have many MGs who are willing to share photos of their gardens and trips with us.

Along with appreciating all of our generous SCMGs, there are also three gentlemen with some amazing photography skills that deserve a special thank you.

Jon Batson has been a UNH Cooperative Extension volunteer for many years. He is a Natural Resources Steward and has been a SCMG since 1996.

He lives in Strafford County, is a landscaper by profession, and he has some serious photography skills.

Jon graciously allows us to use his photos on our blog.

If you’d like to check out some of Jon’s other photographs, his website is Antilandscaper.

Walter Keane, is retired Navy, lives in Hillsborough County, and takes photos for NH Audubon in Concord for their Facebook and Instagram accounts.

He also provides photos to the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

He has shared several photos with us that have been used on our website and Instagram account.

Allen Norcross, blogs at NHGardenSolutions, lives in Cheshire County, and spends a lot of time hiking across the western part of the state.

He permits us to use his photos as a teaching tool since he goes places and sees things the rest of us might only see in a book or online.

I use many of Allen’s photos on our Instagram account because we are followed there by so many gardening enthusiasts including MGs from across the country.

To all the SCMGs and our friends who share their love of gardening through their photography, please accept our deepest thanks.

“You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”   Ansel Adams
