Scholarship Winner 2017

Every May, the Strafford County Master Gardeners Association holds its annual plant sale. Members contribute plants from their personal gardens, a potting party is held, and the day of the sale, it is all hands on deck to sell and talk to our fellow gardeners.

The proceeds from this sale are used to fund our county projects and to provide a scholarship to a deserving member of our county who is pursuing a degree in the  field of horticulture from the University of New Hampshire, Durham.

The Caroline Bassage Memorial Scholarship was awarded this year to Chris S., a Strafford County resident and student in the Horticulture Technology Program of the Thompson School of Applied Science.

Jacqueline B., Co-Chair, Chris S.,, Barb F., Treasurer

Chris works at Pawtuckaway Nursery on Route 125 in Lee. His career goal is to own a landscaping service or garden center. If you are shopping at Pawtuckaway, see if Chris is working and introduce yourself.

Thanks to all the Strafford County Master Gardeners and our wonderful customers who make this scholarship possible.

Strafford County Master Gardeners Association, part of the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, is fifty+ gardeners strong, educating through gardening in Strafford County New Hampshire.
