Congratulations and Welcome to the new Seacoast Class of Master Gardeners representing Strafford and Rockingham Counties.
SCMGA is very excited about having new interns and look forward to working with them on our various projects.
One of our projects that is in need of several interns in 2017 is the Master Gardener in Residence, UNH Child Study and Development Center, Durham.
SCMGs assist the staff, parents and children with garden management by helping them create weekly to-do lists as well as demonstrate garden practices.
There are approximately 120 children who attend the programs at CSDC, 20 staff, 50 interns and more than 100 assorted parents and siblings. CSDC is hoping to better integrate families and children into their extensive gardens. They are also committed to growing more of the food they serve to the children.
Master Gardeners will be on hand two to three mornings and one afternoon a month at CSDC (in Durham near the UNH horse barns on the UNH campus) to lead a garden based activity for families, staff, interns and interested children.
If you are interested in working on this project, contact Jacqueline or email nhscmga (at) yahoo (dot) com.
Our other current projects are listed on the Projects Page at the top of this post. All projects are required to be approved by UNH Coop Ext Strafford County prior to start. If you need assistance in applying for project approval, please contact us.
It may be wicked cold outside and the landscape may be white, but once Christmas and New Years holidays are over there are only 152 days until our annual plant sale. Think green and gardening. 🌷
