Woodman Museum

The newest  garden at the Woodman Museum is complete and recently put to bed for the winter but not before the signage for the garden was unveiled.

Dover resident and artist Veronica Eva Conley decided to have a neighborhood yard sale in June 2016. While walking to the library, I noticed a flyer on a telephone pole on Silver Street advertising the yard sale. It was the best yard sale poster I had ever seen.

I tracked Conley down to see if she would be willing to create a rendering for our new Medicinal Industrial Garden at the Woodman. Veronica agreed,  and the resulting artwork depicts the garden layout, the plant selections in full color, and descriptions of the plant’s uses over the centuries.

The garden was installed by  Strafford County Master Gardeners with help from other museum volunteers and staff in the dirt and behind the scenes. The project was underwritten by the NH Master Gardener Association.

Thank you to everyone that pitched in and made this garden a reality. For more information about the Woodman Museum visit www.woodmanmuseum.org

I cannot think of a better combination than a garden of useful plants and a local artist. Thank you for this.
