Lee in Bloom

Imagine spring bulbs of dazzling colors, waving in the breeze, and welcoming everyone to Lee, NH, to celebrate the town’s 250th birthday.  Happy birthday, Lee!

Jill Nooney, Bedrock Garden, thought of the idea, and the SCMGs purchased the bulbs to collaborate in the celebration.  Jill taught the Mast Way Elementary second graders how to plant bulbs in October 2015 and the bulbs were planted along the road at Mast Way School, the town library, and the transfer station/maintenance building complex.

For an educational component, Mrs. Webb, Ms. Darois, and Mr. Mc Cornmick, second grade teachers, are teaching the Journey North Tulip Test Gardens Program, an international, inquiry based program.  The program tracks changes in seasons and climate around the world.
